Abstract

This guide is intended for parents and professionals who wish to establish or participate in parent support groups. It defines the concept of a support group, its goals and objectives, and the benefits these groups provide in supporting parents. Various topics that can be addressed within support groups are discussed, such as parenting and educational challenges, as well as the importance of integrating these groups into schools. The guide offers details on organizing a support group, including preparation before sessions, setting goals and objectives, inviting participants, meeting frequency, and creating a comfortable environment for discussions. Recommendations are provided for facilitating discussions, integrating new members, and managing issues or challenges that may arise. Additionally, tips are included for maintaining an active and effective support group.
