Abstract

The session "How to support your child's development" provides parents with an overview of child growth and development. Growth and development are key indicators of a child's health and are influenced by various factors, including environment, nutrition, hygiene, physical activity, education, social, and cultural aspects.

In the first part of the session, parents will analyse the principles of development and identify key milestones in a child's growth. A significant developmental indicator is the onset of puberty. During puberty, the child undergoes profound psychological changes, leading gradually to the crystallization and stabilization of most adolescent psychological structures. In the second part of the session, discussions will focus on the importance of sexual education for preteens and the role of peer influence in a child’s life.

This module is part of the materials dedicated to the training of parental educators.
