Abstract

This module „How to help children cope with trauma” focuses on understanding psychological trauma in children, its causes, effects, and paths to recovery. It introduces the concept of trauma, distinguishes between stress and trauma, and examines common traumatic events in family, school, and social settings. Activities encourage analyzing trauma through brainstorming and identifying reactions to trauma in children versus adults. The session highlights symptoms of trauma, explains healing processes, and explores strategies for building resilience as a foundation for emotional recovery. It concludes with practical advice for parents, group discussions, and a recap, supported by auxiliary materials.

This module is part of the materials dedicated to the training of parental educators.
